Hi, I’m Lynne Chen

Designer & developer crafting inclusive brands, websites, and stories with
sign language at the heart.

About · Story

I’m a Deaf designer & developer based in the U.S., originally from Shanghai. A childhood illness led to hearing loss—and also opened a world of colour, books, and sign language.

With my parents’ support, I grew up drawing and learning how design communicates. I later studied design and completed a master’s in sign language linguistics in Korea. I use ASL, CSL, KSL, and International Sign.

I spent five years in a top ad agency in China serving major brands. Amid communication barriers, I built trust through clarity, strategy, and craft. Alongside, I supported Deaf-led nonprofits and language advocacy.

Design is language. Accessibility is care. Craft is how we tell the truth—quietly or boldly—so people feel seen.

Since moving to the U.S. in 2019, I trained in full-stack development and now work as a studio-of-one, collaborating with Deaf-owned businesses and nonprofits to build inclusive brands, websites, and content with heart.
